Eilat: Days 2 and 3

After a restful night in the great outdoors, we woke up and had a delicious breakfast. Our first adventure of the day was camel riding. Many students had reservations about going but in the end, of the 7 students who said they were not going on a camel, 7 students went and actually enjoyed. It was a little scary when the camel got up. But once they were on all fours, it was a pretty smooth ride.

After camel riding, we checked out of the Bedouin camp and went to the colorful sands. We learned how the sand in the desert changes colors as a result of the conditions of the rocks. We saw beautiful colors and made some sand art with the sand.

After that, we went on a little hike to Ein Avdat which is a canyon in the Negev.
Some of bravely hiked to the top where we saw a waterfall from above.
Others chose to view the falls from below.
When we reunited, Maya demonstrated to us how a water fall forms from within a canyon, using Dovi as a model.

Our next stop was to the Air Force Musuem. That was cool. We got to see to see many different fighter jets that are used in the Israeli Air Force and even got to sit in them.

Heads up to our parents...some of us decided that we want to join the army.
Day 3 began with a stop where we could look out at the canyons and mountains of the Negev from a higher point. We each got a chance to draw a picture of what caught our eye the most.

Our next stop was to an Alpaca farm. We had a great time playing with the alpacas, llamas, and some other animals.
Our final stop before heading down to Eilat was to a place where we saw different sculptors that were designed as a representation of what the Negev looked like to these artists.
And finally, we were off to Eilat............
