Chag Sameach!

Today we took a journey through time in preparation for Chanukah as we learned first hand the story of Chanukah. We went to Neot Kedomim where we saw how the Macabim lived;

We saw how they used olives to make oil.

Then we made our own olive oil jugs.

We then saw the caves that the Macabim hid in, how they got water, and how they made Zatar.

Then we got to see what it was like to be a shepard. That was cool!

Then we went to the graves of the Macabim where Jordan told us the story of Chanukah.

And finally came the highlight....we went to an army base where we met with soldiers, gave them cards that we made, and lit the menorah with them. It was such a great experience.

When we got home, we lit the Chanukah candles all together.
